Healer Description

Sam runs a busy creative arts psychotherapy practice. He has also written a book on healing through meditation and nature connection called: The Antidote. He works with clients of all ages, and is professionally interested in the developmental journey through life, integrating and transforming trauma, and working with clients who wish to be empowered on their healing journey.
In addition to being a healer, and holding a diploma from the COH, Sam is also a UKCP registered humanistic integrative psychotherapist. He worked in special needs day and residential education for 8 years, 1 year on the ground and as a manager (and trainer) for 7 years at Ruskin Mill Educational Trust. https://rmt.org/Before then he was a holistic therapist, teacher and trustee of an educational charity. Before then he was a father, labourer and tree-surgeon but was able to give that up to study political philosophy, European politics and german literature and film at UCL!
He trained as a Dance Movement Psychotherapist, completing an MA with Canterbury Christchurch University in 2017. During his MA he was employed by UWE as a mental health mentor. He started running reflective practice groups in 2019 and has been a clinical supervisor since 2020. In 2018 Sam started a Ltd Co called Natural Genius, 'To bring out people’s natural and unique genius.’ He lectures and facilitates trainings on attachment, trauma, conflict mediation, child development, trauma informed practice, understanding behaviour, creativity, mental health, co-regulation, and contact improvisation. Sam provides external supervision across a variety of provisions in Bristol in the charity and education sectors. He works with his own mental/physical health (and early attachment trauma) through poetry, dream work, drawing, dance, meditation, relational practices, wild (and tame) swimming and nature connection.
